Mrs. Carl Aarstad

WILLOW LAKE – Funeral for Mrs. Carl (Lena) Aarstad, 83, who died Friday in a Watertown hospital, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church, Willow Lake, with the Rev. Gerald Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Good Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the church Sunday. Lena Anderson was born May 14, 1893 to John and Thea Anderson in Merton Township Clark County. In 1917, she married Carl Aarstad at Watertown. They lived there and Chamberlain before moving to Willow Lake in 1920. She was a commutative member of the Grace Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women. She was also a member of the Sons of Norway.

Survivors include her widower; one son, Dr. Howard Aarstad, Watertown; one daughter, Mrs. William (Helen) Degler, Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Rachel Frankot, St. Paul, Minn.; three brothers, Andrew Anderson and John Anderson, both of Willow Lake, and Ralph Anderson of Clark; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters.

Community Funeral Home, Clark announced the arrangements.
