Cosimo Dominick Abbate, age 88, of Albuquerque and a resident of New Mexico for 60 years, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013.
Cosimo is survived by sons, David Abbate and his wife, Sandye, Jim Abbate and his wife, Margaret, Steve Abbate and his wife, Terri, daughter, Jane and her husband, Anthony Migliaccio, eight grandchildren and sister, Rose Papish. Cosimo was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Abbate, parents, James and Cira Abbate and brothers, Joe Abbate and Jim Abbate.
Cosimo served in World War II as a Navy Corpsman on Iwo Jima. Cosimo was a member of The American Legion. Cosimo was an avid competitor in the Senior Olympics in swimming.
Interment will take place at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM.
