VERMILLION — Gladys H. Brown, age 84, of Vermillion, SD died Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home, Huron, SD.
She was born Sept. 29, 1921 in Viborg, SD to Hans Sorenson and Anna Anderson. She graduated from Volin High School in 1940. She was a typist at the Broadcaster Press, Vermillion. She married Lowell B. Brown Feb. 28, 1942 in Dakota City, NE. He died Sept. 5, 2001. She lived in Huron for six years.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermillion.
Survivors include a son, Bruce (Sue) Brown, Vermillion; daughters: Sharon (Bill) Kephart, Tucson, AZ; JoAnn Wischmeyer (Bill), Austin, TX; Connie (Harold) Allard, Palm Springs, Calif.; Betty (Roy) Garcia, Payton, Colo.; sisters: Muriel Aaun, Pierre, SD; Lucille Muion and Darlene Hoxeng, Yankton; Carolyn Zabidale of Crofton, NE; brother-in-law: Max Brown of Austin, MN; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Anna (Anderson) Sorenson; husband, Lowell; brother, Everett Sorenson; sister, Estelle Anderson; sister-in-law: Irene Rabusch.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermillion. The Rev. Ed Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Bluff View Cemetery, Vermillion.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home. There will be a 7:00 p.m. prayer service Wednesday at the funeral home.
