WALDOBORO - Raymond A. Genthner, 79, died Wednesday at a Rockport hospital after a long illness. His wife, Laura Genthner, died in 1962. He was born in Medomak, a son of Eben & Georgia Oliver Genthner, and lived here most of his life. Mr. Genthner, was a construction rigger and worked for several years on the St. Lawrence Seaway. He was a member of the First Baptist church, the Masons, the Scottish Rite Bodies, the Consistory of Portland, and Kora Temple Shrine. Surviving are a son, Chester H. of Gardiner; a daughter, Mrs. Guy (Virginia) Abbotoni of Waldoboro; three brothers, Burnell Genthner of Hartford, Conn.; and Perley Genthner and Fred Genthner both of Bremen; a sister, Lillian Johns of Waldoboro; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 2 pm Friday at Hall Funeral Home, 77 Main St. Burial will be in Shuman Cemetery.
