Dies at Golden City Home
Frank Acree, one of the Golden City's
business men, passed away at this home
at that place Friday morning at five
o'clock. He became ill last February
and a greater part of the time since
that date has been contined to his bed.
He was taken to various hospitals,
physicians from other towns were
called, a number of transfusions were
administered, all that science and
loving hands could devise was resorted
to, but without avail. Later he was
taken to a hospital at Iola, Kans., for
treatments and for a time was believed
to be improving. The past week he
grew decidedly worse and was brought
to his home, where a few hours
afterward he passed away.
Frank, as he was familiarly known
to many Lockwood friends, was in
business in Lockwood a few months.
His disposition was that of a jovial,
light-hearted, sunny nature. He was
good to everyone and often went out of
his way to do a kindness to others.
During his last lingering illness he
often expressed the belief that he was
going to get well. At times when he
became depressed, he said that he was
ready to go.
Funeral services were held Sunday
afternoon at the home and the burial
was at the I.O.O.F. cemetery there
in charge of the Masonic fraternity.
He is survived by his wife, his parents,
one sister, other relatives and a host
of friends.
The Luminary and the many Lockwood friends
extend to the bereft family their sincere in their bereavement.
