Sharlene (Edwards) Abbott, 70, of Lyons, passed away at 7:45 a.m., Monday, July 28, 2003 at Lyons Health & Living Center. Born July 7, 1933 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Lex and Annabel (Grounds) Edwards. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper, and a member of Lyons Church of Christ and Lyons Jr. Mrs. Club. Survivors include, her husband, Caroldon (Carp) Abbott of Lyons; four sons, Ron Beck and Tim Abbott of Lyons, Randy Beck Newburgh and Dennis Abbott of Lafayette; three daughters, Darla Padgett of Lyons, Lori Sargent of Sandborn, and Karla Orender of Washington; one brother, Conrad Edwards of Lyons; 17 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be held at Lyons Church of Christ at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
