ST. ANTHONY - Francis R. Wright, 63, a longtime area butcher and cattle buyer, died Friday in an Arco Motel, of an apparent heart attack. He had been returned from Twin Falls after purchasing equipment for a new meat shop in Sugar City when he suffered a fatal heart seizure.
Francis R. Wright was born April 8, 1909 in Bingham Canyon, Utah, the son of Hugh A. and Frances Eliza Roylance Wright. He moved to Rexburg with his family as a child where his father operated a butcher shop.
He attended Rexburg and Sugar City schools and later was a student at Ricks College. He Married Venla Cooper, May 29, 1929 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They first settled in Pocatello, then lived at various places in Idaho and California until they established a butcher shop at Matthews Grocery in St. Anthony.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Donna (husband, Gene) Abegglen, Ann (husband, Glenn) Wickham, and ReNae (husband, Don) Hedges; and two sons, Roger (wife, Jeanne) Wright and Robert (wife, Sherrel) Wright.
Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony LDS 1st & 2nd Wards Chapel on Monday, October 30, 1972 at 1 p.m., with Bishop Grant F. Chandler officiating. Burial will be in Sugar City Cemetery.
