James Russell Krammes, 78, died at 3:30 PM Friday, March 29, 2002, in his Lafayette home, following a six-month illness. Born Oct. 18, 1913, at Frankfort, he was raised in Mulberry and came to Lafayette 56 years ago. He married Helen Trueblood on Jan. 24, 1946, in Lafayette, and she survives.

Mr. Krammes was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked at Alcoa Aluminum Co. for more than 41 years, retiring on Sept. 30, 1983. He was a member of Alcoa 25-Year Club and American Legion Post 11. He was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Pamela (Mrs. Michael) Anderson of Linden; two sisters, Miriam Dewees of Mulberry and Judy Garrison of Lafayette; a brother, William Krammes of Mulberry; three grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
