Ida Stallings Abbott, born April 8, 1925, died June 16, 2014, peacefully at her home in Tazewell, VA.
Ida, one of seven children born to Annie Maude Lancaster Stallings and George Stallings, was born in Rocky Mount, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, her husband Thomas Stonewall Abbott, Jr., her son George Thomas Abbott and grandson William Bennett Altizer.
She will be truly missed by daughter Dianne Altizer (Billy Altizer) of Tazewell, VA, her granddaughter Elizabeth Mullins (Ronnie Mullins) of Tazewell, VA, her grandson Phillip Altizer, of Charlotte, NC, her great grandchildren Nathan Mullins, Kate Mullins and William "Will" Altizer, her great grandchild, Alayah Marie Houchins, her nephews.
Ida was a member of West Edgecombe Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC until moving to Tazewell, where she attended Tazewell Baptist Church and most recently Bundy's Chapel.
Graveside services will be performed by her granddaughter's husband, Ronnie Mullins, on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Stallings Family Cemetery on Green Pasture Road in West Edgecombe County, Rocky Mount, NC.
