BELLEVUE, Iowa - Richard "Holly" Abbott, 54, of 611 Jefferson St., Bellevue, died early Saturday morning, April 19, 2003, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Private services will be Wednesday at Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at a later date.
Mr. Abbott worked at the former Dubuque Packing Co. for 29 years, and later at Scheckel Construction Co.
He was born on March 16, 1949, son of William J. Sr. and Helen (Flynn) Abbott. He married Marcia Noonan on June 8, 1971, in Bellevue.
Surviving are his wife, Marcia, of Bellevue; two sons, Shannon Abbott (and fiancee, Heidi Mueller) and Brad Abbott (and close friend, Marsha Cloos), both of Bellevue; two sisters, Nora (Michael) Hipschen, of Bettendorf, and Mary Ann (Kevin) Kutsch, of Bellevue; three brothers, William (Mary) Abbott Jr., of Otter Creek, Michael Abbott, of Bellevue, and David (Lisa) Abbott, of Dubuque; his mother, Helen (Flynn) Abbott, of Bettendorf; and a grandchild, Alexis Abbott.
He was preceded in death by his father, William J. Abbott Sr.; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Wilma Noonan.
