OLIVE HILL – Shirley Jackson Baker, age 64, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 15, 1980, at home.
He was born August 9, 1916, in Pleasant Valley, Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late George Baker and Laura Susan Duzan Baker. Mr. Baker was a farmer, retired worker from Carter County and a veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Dewayne Allen Baker; one sister, Clova Baker and five brothers, Dan Baker, Carlos Baker, Henderson Baker, Brady Baker and Robert Baker.
Shirley is survived by his wife of 39 years, Opal Inez Erwin Baker of Olive Hill, Kentucky, one son and daughter-in-law, Beauford Baker and Marilyn Kay Cline Baker of Hackett, AR; six daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Baker Roar and Bob Roar of Grahn, Kentucky, Margaret Baker Williams and Odis Williams of Oxnard, California, Rose Mary Baker Fannin and Carl Fannin of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Deborah Baker-Bond of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Pamela Baker Thomas and James Everett Thomas of Morehead, Kentucky and Shirlene Baker of Olive Hill, Kentucky. 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Irene Baker of White Pine, Tennessee; and one sister Rebecca Marie Humphries of Olive Hill, Kentucky and sister-in-law, Janet Gail Baker or Olive Hill, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
