Mary "Polly" Malindy Abbott: Polly could play the accordian, she calle it a "pull goody". She's play with her husband, Stephen Benefield on the flute. Their favorite song to play was "Life's Railway to Heaven" (more commonly known today as "Life is like a Mountain Railway")
Lillian Benefield said she used to say her eyes were as "dark as chinkapins".

Mrs. S.J. Benefield obituary was from the Columbus Enquirer.
Mrs. S.J. Benefield,70, died Friday afternoon at 3:35 o'clock at her residence, 612 First avenue Phenix City having been stricken suddenly Thursday night.
She is survived by four sons Neeham Henry Benefield,b.June 18, 1882.

Felbert Leroy Benefield b. March 03, 1891
