Charles David Abernathy, 78, of Glen Allen died April 23, 1998 at Bond Nursing Center in Marble Hill. He was born at Gravelton, MO, November 27,1919, son of the late James Milton and Emma Johnson Abernathy. On June 28, 1941 he was untied in marriage to Willie J. "Billie" Burns.
He was a very dedicated and loyal member of member of the Glen Allen Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Ruth Ann and her husband, Allen Clark; and Barbara and her husband Jennings Wilkinson, all of Glen Allen, MO; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Slinkard of Cape Girardeau and Mrs. Ruby Montgomery of Ellisville, MO.
Three brothers, Ernest, Franklin and Fred Abernathy and one sister, Mary Rhodes preceded him in death.
Services were April 26 at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Burial was in Glen Allen Cemetery.
