John Anderson, age 80 years, of Valley City, passed away early Monday morning, September 24 at the family residence.
He was born February 15, 1876 in Fillmore County, Minnesota land was married to Karen Augusta Sathre December 12, 1904. He farmed for many years in Norma Township retiring in 1927 and moved to Valley City.
He leaves his wife, five daughters, Clara (Mrs. H.O.) Hovde, Valley City, Anna (Mrs. Arthur) Lahlum, Fingal, Ruth (Mrs. Jerry) Kent, Valley City, Borghild (Mrs. Gail) Umphrey, Minneapolis, Mrs. Martha Anderson, Fingal; four sons, Peter Anderson, Valley City, Maurice Anderson, Valley City, Walter Anderson, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Vernon Anderson, Minneapolis, Minnesota; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 4 o’clock Thursday, September 27, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City, Rev. Reuben C. Teslow officiating. Interment will be made in the Emanuel Cemetery, west of Fingal, North Dakota.
