John Edward Adcox passed away peacefully at home with family on December 22nd after a long illness.

A native of Eldorado , Arkansas, and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, Mr. Adcox is survived by his wife Rosalyn Murphey Adcox, whom he adored every moment of their 51 year marriage; his son, John Adcox, Jr (Carol Bales) of Atlanta; his daughter, Katherine Adcox Winchester (Chris) of Birmingham, Alabama; and two grandchildren, John Christopher (Jack) and Katherine Caroline (Kate) Winchester, who filled his heart with joy. He is also survived by a brother, Billy Joe Adcox (Shirley) of Ruston, Louisiana; sisters Sara Adcox McMath of Bryan, Texas, and Peggy Adcox Mattison (Andy) of Mobile, Alabama; several nieces and nephews and one great nephew.

He was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Adcox Brown. Though they miss him terribly, his family and friends are consoled this Christmas season by a treasure trove of memories and stories.

A kind and gentle man who endeared himself to all who knew and loved him, Mr. Adcox exuded a warmth and humor that graced the Adcox home and made all who visited there feel welcome. We miss you, John, but we thank God for the blessing you have been to your wife, your children, your grandchildren, and your brothers-in-law who loved you as a brother.
