Bobette “Bobbi” Ruth Albers Cass was born June 8, 1937, to Fred and Anna Kuch Albers in Bismarck. She grew up the youngest of six children on the family farm in Center.

Her parents, her brother, Kenny Albers, and an infant son, Donald Cass Jr., preceded her in death.

Bobbi is survived by her son, Gary and Lisa Cass, Buckley, Wash.; her grandchildren, Kelsey and Ian, her great-grandson, Nathan Samuel (born to Kelsey); her daughter, Susan and Steve Moore, Two Dot, Mont.; her grandchildren, Sanford and Rachel; her son, Dean Cass, Billings, Mont.; her grandchildren, Megan, Ryan and Kayla; three brothers, Claude Albers, Grass Range, Mont., John and Geri Albers, Walla Walla, Wash., and Howard Albers, Billings; one sister, Gertrude Thompson, Arvada Colo.; and 11 nieces and nephews and their families.

Bobbi remembered fondly her years growing up on the farm, learning to become an excellent cook, seamstress and gardener from her mother, fussing over her homework (needlessly), which on occasion worked to get her out of chores, driving her dad to town and spoiling her nieces.

She graduated Valedictorian of her high school class in Center in 1955, and earned a two-year teaching degree from Jamestown College. Upon graduation, and after a short telephone interview, she boarded a train and headed for Harlowton, Mont. For two years, she taught first grade before catching the eye of her husband-to-be, Donald Cass. They married in 1959, divorced in 1985, and he preceded her in death in 2008.

Bobbi was a wonderful, devoted daughter, mother and grandmother — she took immense delight in her grandchildren and in her heart was overjoyed to know that she recently became a great-grandmother. She never missed an activity in which her children were involved. She was a loving and kind daughter, providing care and companionship to her own mother during her later years.

Bobbi worked for the Post Office in Harlowton for many years, eventually becoming Postmaster. She was very active in Postal Service activities, always attending their annual convention and taking her turn as editor of their newsletter. She was elected to the Harlowton school board and was named chairperson. Bobbi was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church, was a committed member of the Military Affairs Committee in Harlowton, loved to golf and was a loyal supporter of Jawbone Creek Country Club, loved to sing in the church and Harlowton Women’s choirs and was an avid Oakland A’s baseball fan.

Bobbi battled the awful disease that is Alzheimer’s. For the last six years she called Wheatland Memorial her home, where she received excellent care and thought of the other residents, doctors, nurses, CNAs and staff part of her extended family.

Bobbi went to be with her Lord on April 22, 2010, with her family and extended family by her side. We will always remember her love and graciousness, her quick smile, and her contagious laugh, and she will always be in our hearts. “Que sera sera; Whatever will be, will be; The future’s not ours to see; Que sera sera.”

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at American Lutheran Church in Harlowton, with burial in the Harlowton Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Taylor will officiate.
