Nancy Garrett Adams 93, of 118 Small Circle, died Thursday January 1, 2015 at her home. She was born in Bertie County November 15, 1921 to the late Vernon Hayes and Sally Vaughan Garrett and was predeceased by her two husbands, Alvin Ray Stephens, Jr and Spencer Harding Adams. Nancy was a member of Colerain Methodist Church. She attended Louisburg College and retired from Roanoke-Chowan Hospital as a medical records librarian with 17 years of service.
Funeral services will be held Sunday January 4, 2015 at 4:30 PM at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Walter Johnston. A private burial will be held Monday January 5th.
Survivors include her 3 sons; Ray Garrett Stephens of Athens, OH, William "Dean" Stephens of Colerain, NC and Edward Bowen Stephens of Phoenix, AZ; 14 grandchildren as well as Spencer's 5 sons and daughters.
