Ella Lucille “Luke” Bowen Allen Griffin's (B. 20 FEB 1917, D. 29 APR 2013) remains are buried next to her husband Georgie Washington Allen (B. 17 JUN 1909, D. 27 NOV 1976). Their children are:
1. Daughter: Georgia Gail Allen, b. Mar 13, 1937. Married Charles Richard Murphy, b. Sep 10, 1936.
2. Son: Gary Randall Allen, b. May 19, 1938. Married Marion Norris, b. Jul 26, 1942.

She was named, Ella Lucille Bowen. She was born in Bulloch County, Georgia, but for most of her life in she lived in Savannah, Georgia. Her friends called her "Luke." She was 96 years old when she was called to be with her Lord. Her parents were William Harrison Bowen (b. 10 JAN 1884, d. 24 DEC 1963) and Carrie Elizabeth Croft, (b. 10 JAN 1894, d. 04 FEB 1961). Both of her parents are interred in Eastside Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, George Washington Allen; also by her second husband John Griffin. She is survived by her children: Daughter, Georgia Gail Allen Murphy, and her husband Charles; And her son, Gary Allen Sr., She is also survived by her grandchildren: Gigi Murphy Vollinger and husband Kurt of Savannah, Georgia; Richard Murphy and wife Elizabeth of Atlanta, Georgia; Gary Allen Jr. and wife Laurie; and Christopher Allen of Savannah, Georgia. Her great grandchildren: Austin Allen, Claire Allen, Christopher Allen, Aidan Murphy, Patrick Murphy, and Kathryn Murphy of Atlanta, Georgia. She attended and was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church since 1944. She was very active in her church and numerous organizations. She was leader of The Gladys Greenlee Circle and a longtime teacher of the Friendship Sunday School Class and was recognized for her work in special missions as a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Women. During her life she was a loving mother, grandmother, friend and homemaker. She enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends. The greatest loves of her life were her church, family and sports. She made a point of attending all of her children's and grandchildren's sporting activities throughout the years. She was a passionate fan of the Atlanta Braves and rarely missed a game. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her superb southern cooking and hospitality as well as her great love for her family. She was a grand, southern lady.

There may not be a name marker on the monument which has her 1st husband's name. SURVIVING CHILDREN HAD HER EARTHLY REMAINS CREMATED .
