Charles Acree Dies at 82 Years
Charles Acree was born,
Sept. 16, 1844, in Champaign
county, Illinois and departed
this life at his home in Golden
City, Mo., July 31, 1926, at
nine twenty p.m., at the age
of 82 years, 10 months and 16
days.
He came to Missouri after
the Civil War with his parents
locating in Cass county, one
summer and then moved to
Lawrence county, where he
lived for two years and then
moved to Barton county,
where he lived the remaining
days of his life.
He was married to Hollen
Hicks on February 14, 1876.
To this union two children
were born. The wife and
daughter, Mrs. A.C. Sanders,
survive, the son Frank, pre-
ceeded him, Oct. 3, 1924.
The deceased had never
been in good health since the
death of his son and expressed
several times that he would
soon be with him, and was
ready to go. When the end
came he passsed away peace-
fully without a struggle.
Funeral services were held
Sunday afternoon, conducted
by Rev. S.S. Phillips, followed
by burial in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
