Mrs. Mary Abbott Williams, 82, of LaGrange passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Williams was born December 13, 1926 in Troup County, daughter of the late Otis and Izella Cadenhead Abbott.

Mrs. Williams lived here all of her life and was an active member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. She was a retired nurse having retired from West Georgia Medical Center as the Lab office manager, and had worked for Dr. Curran S. Easley Jr. for twenty-two years. Mrs. Williams was actively involved with Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Richard Fuller of LaGrange, and Elizabeth and Rudy Quillian of Athens; grandchildren and their spouses, DeeAnne Fuller, John and Laura Fuller all of LaGrange, Bo and Sally Griffith of Atlanta, and Daniel Griffith of Athens; great-grandchildren, Crawford Fuller and Dixon Fuller both of LaGrange; sister, Lavern Hanson of LaGrange; sisterin-law, Muriel Abbott of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Daniel Williams Jr.; a sister, Eddie Mae Baker, and two brothers, Jack Abbott and James Abbott.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 Saturday at Shadowlawn Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Jones officiating.

The family will be at the home of Jnoella Quillian at 101 Gordon Street and will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:00 before the service.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Williams to Hospice LaGrange, 1510 Vernon Road, LaGrange, GA 30240.
