Mr. Calvin “Dayton” Thomas Blevins, 81, of Wilkesboro passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Blevins was born in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Blaine Tede and Flossie Lou Henderson Blevins on Wednesday, May 9, 1934.
Calvin was married to Evelyn Louise Shepherd Blevins for 58 years. He enjoyed gardening and building bird houses and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Blevins was preceded in death by: brothers, David and Guy Blevins; sisters, Mabel Absher and Inez Carter.
Survivors left to carry on his memories include: his wife, Evelyn Blevins; daughter, Darlene Barnett and husband, Jay, of Union Grove; son, Ron Blevins of Union Grove; a granddaughter, Melinda McGregor and husband, Shane; sisters, Faye Roop and husband, Cliff, and Joann Lewis and husband, Harley all of White Top, VA; brothers, Kent Blevins and wife, Omagene, Toby Blevins and wife, Gency all of White Top, VA and Jimmy Ray Blevins of Chilhowie, VA.
Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Cricket Baptist Church. Pastor Kelly Darnell will officiate. Burial will be at White Top Baptist Church in White Top, VA.
Visitation will be 2-2:45 PM prior to the service.
