Henry Oscar Acey , 75, of Black Creek Road, died Aug. 1, 1997.
Mr. Acey retired from the Ford Plant Maintenance Dept. as a carpenter. He was a member of Local 919. He was predeceased by his parents, Charlie Acey and Mary Tency Holland, and wife Marie F. Acey .
He is survived by his wife, Stella Grady Acey ; a son, Jerry Henry Acey of Amarillo, Texas; two stepchildren, Peggy Gatje and Robert Grady; two grandchildren, Stephen Henry Acey and Joyce Marie Acey ; four stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Rachel Reckling of Chesapeake, Maybell Bowden of Suffolk, Flossie Liverman of Courtland, Florence Williams of Suffolk, Bernice Brinkley of Chesapeake; and a brother, Charlie Acey of Currituck, N.C.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and at other times at the residence. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, by the Rev. Wayne Underwood. Holland-Rideout Funeral Home is in charge.
