Joseph P. Abbett Dies at Age 73

Joseph Perry Abbett, 73 years old, a farmer died this morning at a local hospital. He was born in Doniphan county, Kan., and resided in St. Joseph at 1216 North 12th street. Mr. Abbett was a member of the Baptist Church at Troy, Kan.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Abbett of the home; three sons, Virgil and Joseph E. Abbett both of St. Joseph, and Delmar Abbett, Troy; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Guthrie, St. Joseph; Mrs. Winifred Bear, Wathena, Kan., and Mrs. John B. Kennedy, Troy; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie McGregor and Miss Nora Abbett, both of Troy; four brothers, Richard Abbett, Omaha, Neb.; John M. Abbett, Troy; Cyrus Abbett, Kansas City, and Charles Abbett, Wadsworth, Kan.; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The body has been taken to Dodds mortuary at Wathena.
