Talmadge "Rooster" F. Abercrombie, 70, of 1597 Bowman Highway, Elberton, husband of Betty Alewine Abercrombie, passed away Thursday morning, May 5, 2011. He was a son of the late Gordon Abercrombie and Estelle Howell Abercrombie. He was a member of Bowman Church of God, and retired from the Granite Industry after 45 years. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Betty Alewine Abercrombie, son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Sherry Abercrombie of Dewy Rose, GA, brothers Hubert Abercrombie of Royston, GA, and J.W. Abercrombie of Royston, GA, a sister Frances Drake of Canon, GA, and a grandson Brannon Abercrombie of Dewy Rose, GA. He was preceded in death by a son Frankie Abercrombie. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Saturday May 7, at 2PM in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with. Rev. Kendall Callaway, Rev. Jesse Ross, and Rev. Greg Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will be at the home and will receive friends from 7-9PM Friday night at Berry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Danny Smith, Paul Smith, Brannon Abercrombie, Aaron Garland, Herman Hill, and Jacob Heard. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Association, 225 Peachtree Street Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30303. Condolences may be sent online at www.berryfh.com.
