Juliette (Tilleman) Acher, 87, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2001, at her home in Chinook following a long battle with cancer.
Juliette was born on June 12, 1914, the fifth of six living children born to John and Stephanie (D'Hooge) Tilleman of South Blaine County. She married Albert Acher on April 16, 1941, in Chinook and they farmed west of Zurich for 23 years.
In 1972 they retired and moved to Chinook. Albert passed away on September 5, 1992.
Juliette's vegetable and flower gardens were her pride and joy. Other hobbies included a good game of cards with friends or family, which she took part in until the very end. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will remember her for their many card games played together (most of which were taught to them by her). Juliette also made many afghans for her family. She was a lifelong member of the St. Gabriel's Parish and she helped with many dinners that St. Gabriel's PCCW would put on. She remained an active member of the PCCW all through the years.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy and her husband Francis Chapman of Chinook: three grandchildren, Karla(Kevin) Willman, Candy(Phil) Baker, and Curt Chapman; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Lena Burkland of Bremerton, Washington; one sister-in-law, Mary Tilleman of Chinook; numerous nieces and nephews who were all a very important part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Albert; two granddaughters, Karen and Kathy; three brothers, Henry, Charles and Arthur Tilleman and one sister, Mabel Bennett.
Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 23,2001 at St. Gabriel's with burial following at the Kuper Memorial Cemetery.
