CASTLEWOOD, Va. Paul Jett Bratton, 80, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Kissito Maple Grove Health Care Center, Lebanon, Virginia. Paul was preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas Stuart and Bessie Collier Bratton; sisters, Estelle Bratton Ackerman, Sue Bratton Curtis, and Pat Bratton McIntyre; brothers, Garland Woodrow Bratton and James Thomas Bratton; very special sister-in-law, Ruth Collier Bratton, and special nephew, Tyler Bratton. Paul Bratton, a native of Castlewood, Virginia, was a pleasant, humble man. He enjoyed sports; his favorite teams were Virginia Tech Hokies and Washington Red Skins. He was a member of Fort Gibson United Methodist Church, Castlewood, where he walked to church every Sunday and participated in church functions such as the United Methodist Men's yard sale and apple butter making projects until three years ago, when in 2012, he made his residence at Maple Grove Health Care Center. Paul is survived by his sister, Grace Evelyn Bratton Couch, Thomasville, N.C., and brother, Joseph Harry Bratton, Blountville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; very special nephew and nieces and care givers, Joey and Rebecca Bratton and Glenna Bratton Hensdill, and many special friends. Funeral services for Paul Jett Bratton will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Fort Gibson United Methodist Church, Castlewood, Virginia with the Rev. Harry Layell and the Rev. Larry Dotson officiating. Interment will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Bob Bratton, Tom Bratton, Trace Bratton, David Bratton, Jeff McIntyre, Scott McIntyre, Jimmy Bratton, and Chuck Lyons. Honorary pallbearers will be Fort Gibson United Methodist Men. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Fort Gibson United Methodist Church, Castlewood, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Memorial Fund, Fort Gibson United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 86 Castlewood, VA 24224.
