Pauline Auguste Honig, daughter of the late Wilhelm and Caroline Brunkow was born Nov. 2, 1868 at Doelitz, Pommern, Germany. She came to this county with her parents and family at the age of 6. They moved to a farm southeast of Wheaton where they resided until the death of her husband, after which she made her home with her youngest daughter at Hope, Kansas. During summer months she visited with her other children.
Her husband and three children preceded her in death.
Children surviving are: Frank of Wheaton; Amelia (Mrs. Fehlhaber) of Wymore, Nebr.; Freda (Marten) of Wheaton; Otto, Wheaton; Rev. Walter Honig, Herington, Kan.; Earl of Topeka; Erna (Marten) Hope, Kan.
She leaves one sister, Mrs. William Honig; one brother-in-law, William Honig; 1 sister-in-law, William Honig; 1 sister-in-law, Mrs. Frank Brunkow; 3 daughters-in-law; 22 grandchildren, 28 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She passed away January 15, 1956, at Hope, Kansas, at the age of 87 years, 2 months, 13 days. Funeral services were held at Wheaton, Wednesday, January 18, at St. Luke's Lutheran church with the Rev. George Klattenhoff in charge. Burial was at St. Luke's cemetery, Wheaton.
