He was baptized in infancy and confirmed June 20, 1886, being a Communicant member of Ev. St. Lukes Lutheran Church. He later became one of the charter members of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Wheaton, and remained a faithful member of that congregation until his death.
He was joined in marriage to Minnie Henneberg on March 11, 1896, and celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary last year. They lived on a farm south of Wheaton until 1923 when they moved to Onaga where they have resided to the time of his death.
This union was blessed with seven children, two of whom have preceded him in death, a son in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Dora Teske, on Dec. 30, 1939. Funeral services were held at the St. Lukes Lutheran church on Sunday afternoon, Rev. E. Hofmann officiating. Interment was made in St. Lukes Lutheran cemetery. A large number of friends and relatives gathered to pay last respects to the departed one, and many Memorial wreaths were dedicated to his memory.
