Albert Brunkow, son of William and Caroline Brunkow, was born March 7, 1871 at Duluth, Kansas, and passed away at his home in Onaga on November 7, 1947, after and illness of several weeks. He reached the age of 76 years and 8 months.

He was baptized in infancy and confirmed June 20, 1886, being a Communicant member of Ev. St. Lukes Lutheran Church. He later became one of the charter members of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Wheaton, and remained a faithful member of that congregation until his death.

He was joined in marriage to Minnie Henneberg on March 11, 1896, and celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary last year. They lived on a farm south of Wheaton until 1923 when they moved to Onaga where they have resided to the time of his death.

This union was blessed with seven children, two of whom have preceded him in death, a son in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Dora Teske, on Dec. 30, 1939. Those surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Minnie Brunkow; five daughters, Mrs. Effie Niemann of Nortonville, Kans., Mrs. Myrtle Rebsch of Galveston, Texas, Mrs. Mamie Ballentine of Emporia, Kans., Mrs. Edna Berges of Topeka, Kans. and Miss Lula Brunkow of the home; 19 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Kolterman, Mrs. Theresa Honig and Mrs. Pauline Honig, all of Onaga and Herman of Madison, Wis.; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the St. Lukes Lutheran church on Sunday afternoon, Rev. E. Hofmann officiating. Interment was made in St. Lukes Lutheran cemetery. A large number of friends and relatives gathered to pay last respects to the departed one, and many Memorial wreaths were dedicated to his memory.

Those attending the services from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Harter, Kansas City, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Niemann and Joye, Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Merle Brunkow, Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Marten and family, Hope; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Honig and family, Herrington; Mrs. Ted Hornbostel, Falls City, Neb., and Miss Rheva Kolterman of Abilene.
