JAMES ROBERT "BOB" BOWEN, 85, Frankfort, died at 4:10 a.m. February 12, 2006, in Wesley Manor Health Care Center.

Mr. Bowen served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Nickel Plate and Norfolk & Southern Railroad after 41 years.

He was of the Christian faith. He was a member of American Legion in Frankfort and was local chairman for the Fireman & Oilers Association more than 25 years.

He was born July 3, 1920, in Cambria to Raymond L. and Hettie Mabel Neher Bowen. He married Joan G. Goldsberry in Frankfort on November 1, 1939, and she survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Karen) Weimer of Greensburg; a brother, Ted of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Doyne (Judy) Unger of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Mrs. Don (Jennifer) Blankman, Suzanne and Matthew Weimer; and two great-grandchildren. Michael and David Blankman.

Four sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bunnell Cemetery with the Rev. John Morris officiating.
