Mr. Abbott died at his home Friday after a short illness.
A native of Montgomery township, Jennings County, Mr. Abbott was born June 12, 1883 to the late James and Frances Eva Shepherd Abbott. He married the former Millie Hall who survives.
Mr. Abbott was a member of the Hopewell Methodist Church and was a retired farmer.
Survivors in addition to the widow include three daughters; Mrs. Mary Drybread and Mrs. Florence Bewley, both of Edinburg, and Mrs. Eva Carson, of Commiskey R1; one son, Donald Abbott of Anderson and 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
