Marjorie Abbott, age 77 of Columbus passed away March 26th in Chandler, Arizona.
She was born on November 23, 1938 to James "Homer" and Helen (Jensen) Ingalls of Shelby. She attended Shelby High and upon graduation attended Lincoln School of Commerce, later working at General Telephone Company in Columbus. In 1961 she married Gary Abbott of Shelby and had 2 children, Chad Abbott and Margo (Abbott) Scow. After their kids were grown, she returned to work in Columbus at Girl Scouts of America, Bankers' Life Insurance and NPPD. She and Gary moved to Columbus in 1993, and she retired from NPPD in 1999. Once she and Gary both retired they spent many winters in Apache Junction, Arizona.
Marj loved spending time with her grandsons. She also had one great-grandson. She enjoyed many hobbies over her lifetime including playing golf, gardening, researching genealogy and had many trips and adventures with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Helen Ingalls.
Funeral service will be held Friday April 15 at United Methodist church in Columbus.
