Mr. Lonzie Abell, 68, a retired farmer of the Gaddis Ridge Community in Taylor County, son of the late Mr. Frank Abell and Mrs. Pernie Puryear Abell, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, July 12, 1901. He died Sunday, January 26th, at the Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville after an extended illness. He united in marriage to Miss Stella Florence Ferrill, April 30, 1921 and to this union three sons and three daughters were born. One son died in infancy. Surviving are: Mrs. Velma Tungate of Elkhorn, Route 1; Mrs. Kathleen Tungate and and Wesley Abell, both of Ottawa, Illinois; Willard Abell, of Marcellus, Illinois; and Mrs. Wilma Ashoff of Chicago, Illinois. Besides his wife and children, he is also survived by twenty grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Mr. Kyle Abell of Lexington, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 28th, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with the Rev. Clay Dixon officiating. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were: Lewis Whitley, Wallace Cox, Haskel Wise, Fred Gaddis, Fred Malone, and Dan Harden.
