Franklin Beans, a long time Alaskan, lived and enjoyed life.

His Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at Anchorage City Church, 1301 West 100th Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska, at 2 p.m. with a pot latch following.

He was born in Mountain Village, Alaska, and moved to South Naknek, Alaska, in 1957. Frank moved to Anchorage and graduated from East High School in 1966.

He moved back to South Naknek and was a life long commercial fisherman, a handyman and mechanic. He was admirable for his love for children. When a child got into trouble or didn't listen he would say, "Never learn."

Frank loved reading novels and anything else he could get his hands on to read. He always had a book with him.

Frank passed away from stomach cancer at the Alaska Native Medical Center.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Adeline Beans; sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Nancy Wharton; brothers, Louis Beans and Jimmy Beans; nephew, James Johnson; and great-nieces, Breanne and Bethany McIntosh.

He is survived by his brother, Stanley Beans; nephews, Michael Johnson, Clarence Johnson and Kenneth Johnson; nieces, Elizabeth McIntosh, Adeline Johnson and Linda Johnson; and he has many great-nieces and great-nephews. Frank would always say, "God Bless."

A Celebration of Life will be held in South Naknek on Sept. 4, 2016, at South Naknek Lutheran Church at 2 p.m., with a pot latch afterwards.
