Born December 25,1938 in Clay County, he was the son of Elva Jones Abner of Harrodsburg and the late Malcolm Abner.
He was a retired Square D employee where he worked for 42 years. He enjoyed farming, fishing and deer hunting.
Survivors include: his wife, Sara “Libby”
Byrd Abner, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Jan Wiley,
Harrodsburg; one brother, Alvie Abner, Lawrenceburg; one
grandson, Zachary Wiley, Harrodsburg. He was preceded in
death by two brothers, Roy Abner and Raymond Abner, and
one sister, Janet Abner.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at the Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. James Byrd officiating.
Pallbearers will be Robert Bailey,
Larry Cox, David Shewmaker, Daryl Catlett, James Dunn,
Henry Grall, Shane Williams and Robert Smith. Honorary
bearers will be Glenn Fallis, Clarence Byrd, Elwood Byrd,
Ronnie Byrd, Junior Sanders, Ralph Byrd and Clifford Grimes
Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.
