Chapel Rites for Norma Aagaard

Funeral services were Friday for Norma Anna Aagaard who died April 6, 1977 at a Grand Island hospital. She was 75.
Pastor Victor Skaggs officiated at the 2 pm rites held at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Interment was in the Ord City Cemetery.
Mrs. Aagaard was born July 30, 1901 at Rosevale in Garfield county, Nebraska to Andrew J. and Elizabeth LeMaster Swanson . Her early life was spent at Rosevale where she attended rural school. She continued her education by attending Ord High School from which she graduated with the class of 1920. She also attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and the Kearney State Teachers College. During and after receiving her education she taught rural school for 20 years.
On April 18, 1942 she was united in marriage to Alfred J. Aagaard at Bartlett. After marriage they made their home on a farm in the Rosevale community until 1961 when they retired from the farm and moved to Ord to make their home. Over the past many years she attended the Bethany Lutheran church.
Survivors include one brother, Herman of Ord; three nephews and three nieces. Preceding her in death were her husband on October 12, 1966, her parents, one infant brother, Charles and one brother, Roy.
