Turner (Harry) Mumaw, 78, 1001 W. Jackson St., died in the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital at 9 p.m. Sunday following an extended illness.
Born near Wheeling, W. Va. (sic), May 10, 1889, he was the son of John and Mary (Eva) Mumaw. He had lived in this vicinity most of his life.
He was retired from the Continental Steel Corp. where he had been employed for 43 years in the steam plant.
He was a member of the Steel Workers Local Union 1054 and the Free Methodist Church.
Surviving with the widow are four daughters, Mrs. William (Violet) Rayn, Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Imbler, Mrs. Paul (Louise) Titus and Mrs. James (Wilma Jean) Darlin, all of Kokomo; three sons, Cedric and Richard Mumaw, both of Kokomo, and Charles Mumaw, Honolulu, Hawaii; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A son is deceased.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Ellers Mortuary.

Friends may call at the Ellers Mortuary after 4 p.m. Tuesday and at the church for one hour preceding the services.
Mr. Mumaw died Sunday evening in the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness.
