A FATAL RUNAWAY. A LITTLE GIRL INSTANTLY KILLED.

Last Sunday Mr. Alvin Hazen was returning from a neighbors, driving a spirited team. His two little girls had accompanied him for a ride. He was bringing home a harrow. One of its teeth dropped out and he left the team standing and went back to pick it up. Just then his horses frightened at a colt which ran by. The little girls screamed and the horses ran away. Mr. Hazen, in pursuing the runaways, stumped his toe and fell. In crossing a rough breaking at a turn in the road, the wagon upset, throwing the youngest child, aged five years, with great force against a stump, striking on her head. The heavy drag fell on her, one of the iron cross bars literally crushing out her brain, resulting in instant death. The other child was unharmed. Rev. M. D. Reeves conducted the funeral services last Monday. Burial in cemetery. The deepest sympathy is expressed by all for the disconsolate parents.
