He was Born May 5, 1926, in Dennis to James "Jim" Hamilton and Frances Crumby Kennedy.
He was Raised to Farm during the hard times of the Depression.
He Enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II on July 20, 1944.
He Served Outside the Continental United States including the Hawaiian Islands and Alaska on the U.S.S. Rankin AKA 103 before being Honorably Discharged on July 9, 1945.
Learning how to Shoot a Rifle by Hunting at an Early Age led Claude in Achieving the Status of Marksman in the Navy.
After Graduating Tishomingo High School in 1946, he was Hired by the Mississippi Highway Department where he Worked for 40 Years, achieving the First Senior Certified Engineer Title in the Northern Part of Mississippi.
He was a Member and Deacon of Mackey's Creek Primitive Baptist Church, a Member of the Prentiss County Republican Party, and Attended some Southern Leadership Conferences of the Republican Party.
He Enjoyed Hunting and Training Bird Dogs.
Farming Cattle was his Greatest Hobby for over 50 Years.
He was a Loving Father, Grandfather and a Friend to Many (Never Met A Stranger).
A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2017, at McMillan Funeral Home with Elder Douglas Thornburg Officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Rest Cemetery.
He is Survived by his Wife, Linda Goodwin Kennedy; Two Daughters, Janet Murphy of Bartlett, TN; and Alicia McVey and Husband, Jeff; One Son, Alan Kennedy of Booneville; One Granddaughter, Ava Grace McVey; and a Host of Loving Nieces and Nephews.
He was Preceded in Death by his Parents; Five Sisters, Violet, Effie, Jewel, Audrey and Mary; and One Brother, Warren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
