DENNIS – Warren C. Kennedy, 89, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at his residence. He was a native of Tishomingo County, Miss. and a farmer. He was a minister for Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Savannah, Tenn.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, Miss. with Bro. Gene Gist, Bro. Clinton Barnett and Bro. Cecil Woodruff officiating. Burial will be in Joel Cemetery, Dennis, Miss. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Miss. will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Francis McVay Kennedy of Dennis; five children, Mary Francis Bailey (Charles W. Jr.), Sarah Oliver (Edwin), Rickey Kennedy (Lynn), and Patsy Ozbirn (Calvin) all of Dennis and James Kennedy (Janice) of Golden; twelve grandchildren, Anthony, Rodney, Brian, Angie, Patrick, Emily, Stephen, Daniel, Brandon, Kristen, Tracey and Andrew; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Eaton of Dennis; and one brother, Claude Kennedy of Booneville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hamilton and Sarah Francis Crumby Kennedy; a son, Jerry Ray Kennedy; a grandson, Jonathan Kennedy; four sisters, Violet Turner, Effie Kennedy, Jewel Eaton Millstead and Audrey Ables.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brandon Kennedy, Stephen Kennedy, Bradley Hamm, Rodney Kennedy, Brian Oliver, Patrick Oliver, Daniel Ozbirn and Corey Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Bailey, Andrew Ozbirn, Kristen Davis, Angie Hamm and Emily Gerthung.
Visitation will continue until service time.
