Evelyn “Tina” Brandon Bateman, 61, of Aydlett, NC died Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her residence. She was born December 21, 1955 in Nash County, NC to the late Norman Judson Brandon and Peggy Ann Hill Brandon and was the wife of Douglas A. Bateman. She retired from the Currituck County Public School System after years of employment in school nutrition service and driving a school bus. She was a member of Poplar Branch Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Besides her husband, Tina is survived by three daughters, Candace Miller, Stephanie Bass, and Bobbie Marlow; six grandchildren, Georgia Mae Griffin, Patrick A. Cavilier, Nathan Miller, Abigail Miller, Kevin Parker, Kaitlyn Parker; a great granddaughter, Heidi; a sister, Joni Abbott; and a special friend, Joyce Hawk. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Brandon, William “Bill” Brandon and Norman “Mike” Brandon.
A funeral service will take place Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Poplar Branch Baptist Church and the Rev. Tom Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Memorial Gardens.
