Isabel A. Garcia, age 80, a lifetime resident of Ledoux, New Mexico passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at her home. She was born on November 5, 1929 in Ledoux, New Mexico to the late Alfonso Abeyta and Anita Trujillo Abeyta.
She was united in marriage in Mora, New Mexico on November 21, 1947 to Augustin Garcia.
She liked to plant flowers, sewing, canning fruits and vegetables and pinon picking. She also liked going to the casino. She was a Catholic and a very active lifetime member of St. Gertrudes Church in Mora, New Mexico and member of the Guadalupanas, and the Sacred Heart Society.
She was preceded in death by her son; Gary Garcia, parents: Alfonso and Anita Abeyta; sisters: Rosie Regensberg and Pauline Aragon; brothers: Vicente Abeyta, Beltran Abeyta, and Alfonso Abeyta,Jr.
She is survived by her husband: Augustin Garcia of the family home in Ledoux, NM; sons: Gerard Garcia and wife Roberta, and Robert Garcia and special friend Eileen Armijo all of Ledoux, NM; sister: Vicky Ortiz of Las Vegas, NM; grandsons: Gerard Garcia, Jr. and wife Venessa, and Eric Garcia all of Ledoux, NM; granddaughters: Clarissa Garcia of Ledoux, NM; and Crystal Pacheco and husband Louis of Monte Aplanado, NM; great-grandsons: Jerome Pacheco of Monte Aplanado, NM; and Eric Garcia, Jr.of Las Vegas, NM; great-granddaughter: Brianna Pacheco of Monte Aplanado, NM; numerous: other relatives and many friends.
Rosary services were held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 7:00pm at St. Gertrudes Church in Mora, NM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 10:00am at St. Gertrudes in Mora, NM with Father James Sanchez as celebrant. Interment will follow at the San Jose Cemetery in Ledoux, NM with the following serving as casket bearers: Clyde Quintana. Louie Garcia, Clifford Regensberg, Gerard Garcia, Jr., Eric Garcia and Edward Aragon. Serving as honorary bearers are: Brad Sena, Brianna Pacheco, Jerome Pacheco, Clarissa Garcia, and Eric Garcia, Jr.
