He was a retired Fairfield garage operator. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Congregational Church in Fairfield with Rev. Harvey Swanberg officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Born in Siberia, he came to South Dakota in 1907; later moving to Montana and was a mail carrier at Van Norman for a number of years. In 1937, he moved to Fairfield where he opened the Chevrolet Garage and operated it until his retirement in 1955. For the past three years he had been custodian of the Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Survivors include daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Eileen) Nelson of Power and Mrs. Gloria Hickson of Great Falls; son, Charles of Los Gatos, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, William of Sacramento, Calif., Henry of Spokane, Wash., and Gottlieb of Port Townsend, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. Ben Gordon of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.—Information from obituary in The Choteau Acantha, Oct. 14, 1971, Pg. 4
