Lennie Ritchie Hensley, born July 12, 1929, left to be with her heavenly Father on April 6, 2017. She was the daughter of Burgoyne and Mary (Lockhart) Cline of Baisden, WV. In honor of our mommy's request, a public service will not be held. There are no words to describe what a dedicated, strong, and virtuous woman she was for her 87 years of life. Her life was one of selfless dedication to family. She lost her husband leaving her with five children at home. Yet she worked hard, sacrificing many of life's normal pleasures to manage a family and insure they were well taken care of. There wasn't much money, but there was always an abundance of love. Her family considers themselves to be the most blessed people on earth, as she was our mommy. Left behind and longing to see her again, and share with her in her rest in Heaven are her children, Cathy (Robert) Billups, Donna (Tommy) Fortner, Avery (Vivian) Ritchie, Eva (Leonard) Nicholas, Stoney Ritchie, Bill Ellis an honorary son and Marsha Hatfield a beloved and special caregiver. She has been blessed with eight grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Billups, Hannah (Bill) Bates, Lindsay (Aaron) Taylor, Weston (Courtney) Fortner, Ginger (Dan) Martin, Ariel Ritchie, Kenzy Nicholas, and Hunter Nicholas. She has also been blessed with great grandchildren, Matteson Billups, Madelyn Billups, Marabella Billups, Mason Billups, Mayah Billups, Brandt Bates, Noah Bates, Luke Taylor, Lennie Taylor (her namesake), Tucker Fortner, Marcus Hatfield, Sophia Martin, and two pre-born great grandchildren Maggie Bates and Baby M Billups, both due later this year. Lennie was preceded in death by the father of all her children Virgil Ritchie, her second husband Woodrow Hensley, grandson Brandon Fortner and great grandchild Malen Billups. She will be carried to her earthly body's final resting place at the Virgil Ritchie Family Cemetery by her loving family. Lennie's legacy is best described by scripture found in Proverbs 31: 27-29: she looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness, her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Her unwavering love and self-sacrifice could be best found in her relationship with her youngest son Stoney. Stoney was born with a disability requiring constant attention. She never left his side for over fifty years reminding us again of scripture; John 15: 13; Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. For our mommy, greater love hath no woman than she sacrifice her life for her family.
