Ophia's obituary was published in the 5-16-1907 edition of The Current Local, Van Buren, Carter Co., MO on the front page (used with permission).

Ophia, wife of C. A. Adair, and daughter of Geo. C. and Emily A. Hollis, was born Nov. 8, 1887, converted, baptized and joined the church in 1901, married on the 8th of May, 1906 and died on the 3rd inst., aged 19 years, 5 months and 25 days.

Ophia, as she was familiarly called by relatives and close friends, sought the Lord during her last illness and he heard her cry and delivered her. She left behind a bright testimony, and passed away with the smile of peace on her face. This is very comforting to the sorrowing relatives and friends.

The text for the sermon: 1st Cor. 15:55-57--"O Death, where is thy sting? O Grave, where is thy victory? Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory thru our Lord Jesus Christ." The words are very appropriate as the language of triumph.

A large congregation came to sympathize with those that mourn. After the sermon, the body was laid to rest in the Pleasant Site Cemetery.

After the benediction, we went home--whether we thought about it or not--to await a similar call from our Heavenly Father.
