Alton Aaron passed away October 21, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 2, 1936 to Marie & Glen Aaron in Enoch Texas. He moved to Bloomington CA at the age of 14, quit school and went to work in Ore Grande, CA where he met his wife Betty. Alton and Betty married on March 26, 1955. They to moved to New Mexico in 1958 and soon after he went to work at Rose Gravel Co in Carlsbad NM. While he was working, Alton went back to high school at night and received his high school diploma in 1968. Rose Gravel transferred him to Hobbs NM in 1968 and he also worked as a long haul truck driver, rancher in Grenville NM and was a business owner. Alton worked at Enterprise after he moved back to Carlsbad until his illness progressed last year. He loved and lived life to the fullest. He loved to golf, play guitar, ride his motorcycle, restore old cars and hunt with his son. Alton loved to spend time with his family, friends and his boxer named Babe. He was preceded in death by his parents: Glen and Marie Aaron; sister, Helen Potter and brother, Stan Aaron.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Aaron of Carlsbad, NM; son, Ken Aaron and wife, Rae of Artesia, NM; daughter, Julie McGee and husband, Leon of Seal Beach, California; grandchildren: Connor McGee and Lexi McGee; sister, Nancy Gardner and husband, Wayne of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Jack Aaron and wife, Velma of Georgetown, Texas; brother-in-law, Don Potter and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2017, 11:00 AM, at Sunset Church of Christ with Michael Joiner officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Honorary pallbearers are Connor McGee, Jack Aaron, Darell Aaron, Leon McGee, Wayne Jones, Dale Jones, Don Potter and Curtis Potter.
