Edna Lonon Aaron departed this life on Saturday, March 14, 2009. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, she was the oldest daughter of the late Moses, Sr. and Olivia Robinson Lonon; Beloved wife of the late Saul Joseph Aaron; Sister of Ardell L. Bradley (Clyde) of Columbia, MD., and Doris L. Cade (late Hebert Sr.), and the late Moses, Jr., Herbert, and Arthur Lonon; Sisters-in-law of Anna Lonon and Delores T. Aaron; 1st cousin of Gloria Collins of Chicago, IL; Also survived by 9 nieces & nephews, 20 great-nieces & nephews, 19 great-great-nieces & nephews and other relatives and friends.

After graduating from Xavier University, she began her teaching career at St. Mary's Academy in the French Quarter. The majority of her teaching career was tenured at L.B. Landry School. She retired from the Orleans Parish School System with 32 years of service. Edna was a member of Peck Methodist Church, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Girl Friends Inc. and United Teachers of New Orleans.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Woldenberg Village-Willowood Unit for their tender loving care.

Family and friends are invited to attend the service on Friday March 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at First Street Peck Wesley United Methodist Church, 2309 Dryades Street, NOLA 70113. Viewing at 9:00 a.m., services will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Providence Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 8200 Airline Dr., Metarie, La. 70003.
