CHESAPEAKE--Virginia Louise Abbott, 80, formerly of Perry Street, went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2006 in New Bloomfield, PA. A native of Loudoun County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Virgie Pearson Carroll and the wife of the late Joseph Abbott, Sr. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Chesapeake. Surviving are two daughters, Diane Garland and her husband, John of Fredericksburg, VA and Janice Mitchell and her husband, Eddie of New Bloomfield, PA; a son, Joseph "Jimmy" Abbott, Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Virginia Beach, VA; three sisters, Kitty Coakley, Elsie Bourne, and Betty Fines, all of Fredericksburg, VA; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, VA with Pastor David Bard officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. Please share a memory with the family at www.grahamfuneralhome.com.
