CHESAPEAKE--Virginia Louise Abbott, 80, formerly of Perry Street, went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2006 in New Bloomfield, PA. A native of Loudoun County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Virgie Pearson Carroll and the wife of the late Joseph Abbott, Sr. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Chesapeake. Surviving are two daughters, Diane Garland and her husband, John of Fredericksburg, VA and Janice Mitchell and her husband, Eddie of New Bloomfield, PA; a son, Joseph "Jimmy" Abbott, Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Virginia Beach, VA; three sisters, Kitty Coakley, Elsie Bourne, and Betty Fines, all of Fredericksburg, VA; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, VA with Pastor David Bard officiating.
