Mrs. Florence P. Burke, 76, widow of Everett Burke, died Monday at a Machias hospital, following a short illness. She was born at Eastport, June 14, 1892, the daughter of Dallas and Lydia (Berriman) Preston. She is survived by three sons: Millard of Eliot, Malcolm of Dennysville and James of Lubec; four daughters, Mrs. Florence Gachetti of Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Fred Maston of Windsor, Conn., Mrs. Lester Marsh of Eastport and Mrs. Harold Fenderson Jr. of Eastport; two brothers [sic], Mrs. Lloyd (Ina) Ayers of Pembroke and Miss Winnie Preston of Dennysville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Dennysville Congregational Church with the Rev. Roland Chaffey officiating. Burial will be in the Dennysville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Leighton Funeral Home at Lubec on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
