OBITUARY MARK WHEELER
Mark Wheeler passed away in his sleep Wednesday morning at his home in Franktown. Mark was born May 3, 1880 near Franktown, Colorado. He was one of five children born to Francis and Ella Wheeler. On Francis' grave marker in Franktown Cemetery is the inscription, 2nd Lieut., Co. D. Minn. InF. 1913.
He attended school in Douglas County and spent most of his life here. In 1903 he was married to Anna Simpson in Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado. To this marriage seven children were born. Two of these died in early infancy. The eldest, Gladys, passed away in 1927. Shortly after their marriage, Mark and Anna moved to Broomfield, Colorado where they lived for about four years. Then they moved near Franktown, Colo., where Mark engaged in dairying and farming for years. He was a member of the Pikes Peak Grange, Franktown for over fifty years. His wife preceded him in death last April. Mr. Wheeler is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Doris Larreau, Mrs. Laura Acree, of Franktown. Colo, and Mrs. Bernice Quintana of Pueblo, a son, Francis Wheeler, and a brother, Hugh, of Franktown. Also five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
