Lyle C. Aanes, 89, of rural Clermont, died Tuesday afternoon, May 8, 2007, at Good Samaritan Center in West Union after a brief illness. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, West Clermont Lutheran Church, by Pastor Dwight Albers. Burial: God's Acre Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 tonight at Schutte's Clermont Funeral Chapel and one hour before services Friday at the church.

Survivors include three children, David (Julie) Aanes of Clermont, Debra (Gary) Kleppe of Monroe, Wis., and Robert (Janet) Aanes of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Aanes of Fayette and Keith (Helen) Aanes of Edmond, Okla.; and a sister, Clarice (LeRoy) Gass of West Union.
